Alignment

Alignment is key to good instructional design. After determining the necessary learning objectives, assessments are chosen to best measure whether learners are meeting objectives during and after instruction. After assessments are determined, activities are chosen to best prepare learners with knowledge and skills tested in assessments. Visually, alignment is depicted in charts. For this course on research skills, there are four alignment charts, one for each terminal objective. The terminal objectives are listed below and linked to their corresponding alignment chart.
